The KD line of tool bars offers a 3/8" (9.5 mm) shaft of Grade 304 Stainless Steel with the corners machined to fit in a handle drilled to 1/2" x 3" (12.4 mm x 76.2mm), matching the size of the tang, and CNC-machined to fit the individual nanograin carbide cutters.

 

The KTS-KD-0 tool set includes a tool bar machined to fit the square 10.5 mm KD-0 square cutter, the KD-150 slightly radiused cutter, or the KD-50 more radiused cutter.

 

The KTS-KD-R tool set includes a tool bar machined to fit the 11 mm KD-R round cutter or the 11 mm round KD-R-ND, negative rake cutter.

The KTS-KD-T tool set includes a tool bar machined to fit the triangular KD-T, sharp pointed, detail cutter.

 

All tool sets include the tool bar, nanocarbide cutter, mounting screw, and hex wrench.

 

The KD cutters are mounted to the bar using a standard #4-40 x 5/16" flat head socket screw, and should only be hand tightened using a 1/6" hex wrench. Replacement screws and wrench are available from Kilian Tools, however they are also readily available at most hardware and building centres.

 

Please note that all tool bars are sold without handles; many turners prefer to make their own handle or have preferred commercial handles they like. These tool bars will fit any handle with a 1/2" x 3" deep bore.
